Tiesto, Passion Pit, Deadmau5, will.i.am lead Miami's Ultra Music Festival lineup
Here in Florida, we've got the Ultra Music Festival in Miami, and if you like electronic music, that's just fine. Organizers have announced the first slate of performers for this year's fest, held March 26-27. And while it's not getting a reunited Pavement or Soundgarden, it does have a little something for everyone.
If you like world-class DJs, the headliners on both nights are Tiesto and Deadmau5 (both of whom, incidentally, played the Ritz Ybor last fall), plus Carl Cox, Armin Van Buuren, Felix Da Housecat, Eric Prydz, Steve Aoki and Carl Cox.
If you like electronic artists who feel more like bands than DJs, you've got Sweedish House Mafia, Faithless Sound System, the Crystal Method, Groove Armada Live, the Disco Biscuits, Rabbit in the Moon, Infected Mushroom and Pretty Lights.
If you like hipstery-bloggy artists who are just as likely to play Bonnaroo or South By Southwest as they are the Ultra Music Fest, you've got Passion Pit (above), A-Trak, Diplo, Major Lazer and Ghostland Observatory. (Maybe this will entice Passion Pit, whose Manners was one of the best LPs of 2009, to swing by Tampa afterward.)
And if you like will.i.am, there's will.i.am.
Two-day general admission tickets are $139.95; VIP tickets are $350. Click here for all the details, and keep an eye out for even more artist announcements coming up.
