Toby Keith: Should've been a rainout
Toby Keith's jingoistic anthem about sticking a boot you-know-where -- Courtesy of the Red, White & Blue (The Angry American) -- made him country music's biggest star. Seven years, later, though, it's a reminder of an ongoing war that Americans have mixed emotions about.
Nonetheless, a reported capacity crowd of 20,000 attended Keith's performance Friday at the Ford Amphitheatre.
As Wade Tatangelo writes in his concert review, those fans were treated to what amounted to little more than a rain-soaked Ford commercial, with renditions of old favorites that "sounded flat, ancient and irrelevant."
Check out the review here ... and then leave your own thoughts in the comments. Plenty of Keith fans (all Angry Americans, from the sound of things) have done just that.
