Train, Lifehouse, Colbie Caillat, The Script lead VH1's 2011 Best Cruise Ever
Last year, we asked the all-important question: "With Finger Eleven on board, is this really the Best Cruise Ever?"
Our consensus: No, it was not. Forget headliners 3 Doors Down, Lifehouse and Shinedown -- if you have Finger Eleven on your cruise, you should be prohibited by law from calling it the Best Cruise Ever.
Thankfully, it seems VH1 has learned their lesson, and they're going in a different, poppier direction for their 2011 Best Cruise Ever, which departs from Tampa for Cozumel on April 28, 2011.
In addition to returning faves Lifehouse, Train, Colbie Caillat (above), The Script and Mat Kearney are among the big names on the cruise. Safetysuit, Alpha Rev, Civil Twilight, One eskimO, Trailer Park Ninjas and Thriving Ivory will round out the bill.
Aside from the enticing prospect of getting to hang out poolside with Colbie Caillat, this does sound like a much closer approximation to "Best Cruise Ever" than last year's lineup. But these cruises always seem to be pretty fun, judging by the wrapups that appear on one of our all-time favorite blogs, BestWeekEver.tv.
And if you're not into cruising, take note -- in some cases, artists on the bill for these shows end up playing a gig in Tampa right before they leave. It happened last summer with Lifehouse at the Ritz Ybor.
The cruise leaves from Tampa on April 28 and returns on May 2. Packages go onsale Sept. 23 and start at $799. Click here for all the goodness.
