Tres Bien return home, rock the house
"It was a good idea until winter came." Those were the sentiments of Clearwater retro-rockers Tres Bien regarding their move to Williamsport, Pa., last fall, at a concert Friday night at the Neptune Lounge in Tarpon Springs.
The band, once a finalist on Fox's The Next Great American Band and one of tbt*'s Ultimate Bands in 2008, then rocked the hometown crowd with lyrics about "praying for sunshine and heat." Discomfort aside, the northern air has only improved Tres Bien's '60s Brit-invasion-inspired sound (a la the Kinks, the Yardbirds) and super-smooth harmonies. The crowd seemed to agree. Very good indeed.
Win Win Winter, looking especially spry in the opening slot (the band has two new members, and frontman Tommy Simms had dropped some major pounds), performed its warm, alt-pop tunes and ripped through some more aggressive new stuff to dancers' delight.
After the jump, check out a photo of the new Win Win Winter by Gene Shaner...
