Want proof of how mind-bogglingly frustrating the concert ticket industry can be? One of the most powerful men in Hollywood just threw up his hands in defeat.

Tyler Perry has canceled a number of dates for his upcoming Madea Gets a Job tour, including a stop at the USF Sun Dome on Nov. 11, due to frustrations over ticket fees, scalpers, illegitimate scammers and more.

On his website, Perry said he had attempted to set prices for the show at $25, $45 and $65, but has seen ticket fees "almost double" the price of some seats. Moreover, he adds, "there are a lot of ticket bootleggers and scalpers that buy lots of shows and sell them to the public for double, sometimes triple the price. I've been dealing with this for years but now with the internet I've never seen it this bad."

And then there are the scam artists who claim to sell passes for post-show meet-and-greets for $150 or more. "Why are people so evil?" he asks. "Why can't people just get legitimate jobs and stop trying to do the wrong thing all the time?"

The screed, posted on Perry's website, sounds a lot like Louis C.K.'s explanation for why he's selling all tickets to his upcoming tour, which hits Tampa's Straz Center on Nov. 29, through his website. "My goal here is that people coming to see my shows are able to pay a fair price and that they be paying just for a ticket. Not also paying an exorbitant fee for the privilege of buying a ticket," C.K. wrote in June.

Adds Perry: "To all of you who have bought tickets and made plans to be there I am so sorry. I really am but my hands are tied. This was the last live Madea tour and I'm super sorry that you won't get to see it live."

The Sun Dome says refunds are available at point of purchase. Purchases made through Ticketmaster will be automatically refunded. Click here for details.
