UPDATE: Fiona Apple coming to Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater

Midway through this gigantic, colorful profile of her life in semi-hiding these last many months, we remembered: Man, we really want to see Fiona Apple in concert.

Well, pretty soon, we'll have our chance. But we'll have to go to Orlando to do it .

***UPDATE*** A helpful reader points out that Fiona has just added a Sept. 29 date at Ruth Eckerd Hall to the calendar on her website. We have no details about tickets yet, but her site says they'll go onsale at noon Sept. 23. (If it's true, this puts us in the terrible position of having to choose between Metric at the Ritz and Fiona Apple at REH. But hey, we'll probably live.)

***UPDATE NO. 2*** And it's official: Fiona Apple is playing Ruth Eckerd Hall on Sept. 29. Tickets are $51.50-$75.50, and they go onsale Saturday. Click here for details. Let's carry on with the original post...

Apple, whose already-massively-acclaimed new album The Idler Wheel... comes out this week, has announced a concert on Oct. 1 at Hard Rock Live in Orlando. Tickets will start at $36.50, according to Ticketmaster, and they'll go onsale Saturday. Click here for details.

We're looking at a pretty phenomenal run of concerts in Central Florida in late September/early October: Florence and the Machine (9/25, USF Sun Dome), Metric (9/29, Ritz Ybor), Gotye (Oct. 6, House of Blues) and now Apple.
