UPDATE: John Mayer, Owl City coming to the Ford Amphitheatre

If you like radio-ready pop-rock, here's a concert you won't want to miss.

John Mayer is coming to the Ford Amphitheatre in Tampa on Sept. 10, and he's bringing with him one of the year's hottest pop-rock acts: Owl City. Ticket prices haven't been posted yet, but they're expected to go on sale April 17. Keep an eye out at for details.

***UPDATE*** Tickets go onsale at 10 a.m. June 5, and will be priced at $30, $43.50 and $63.50, with a four-pack of lawn tickets available for $99.

Coincidentally, both John Mayer and Owl City came to Tampa within days of one another in February, and we reviewed both shows (click here for John Mayer, and here for Owl City). And we remember thinking at the time: These guys should really tour together. It's an obvious next step for Owl City, who in turn might help Mayer bring in a few younger fans.

Either way, we had a good time at both of these shows, so if you missed them in February, now you can see them together.

Other artists supporting Mayer on this tour are Train and the Avett Brothers, but they're not going to be in Tampa -- at least not at this point.

According to Mayer's Web site, this will be an entirely paperless ticketing show, similar to the one with Miley Cyrus at the St. Pete Times Forum in December. To get in, you'll need to bring the credit card you used to purchase the ticket. Click here and here for details on how it went down at the Miley show.
