UPDATE: Next week: Boyz II Men headline Derek Jeter's Hard Rock party

Derek Jeter graduated from high school in 1992. So you know that at some point up in Kalamazoo, Mich., he was probably rocking a high-top fade, maybe a collarless Nehru dress shirt, some flip-up shades, possibly a little Zubaz action down south, lip-synching to Motownphilly in his parents' basement.

That might explain why Jeter booked Boyz II Men as the headliner for the launch party for his annual celebrity golf tournament.

The Derek Jeter Celebrity Golf Classic, benefitting the Yankee star's Turn 2 Foundation, is Jan. 19-21, mostly at Avila Golf and Country Club in Tampa. Every year, the party kicks off with a star-studded party at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. In recent years, guests have included Michael Jordan, Joss StoneJohn Cena and Entourage’s Kevin Connolly.

So far, all we know about the guest list for next week's launch party is that Boyz II Men is on it.

***UPDATE*** We just got a list of the "expected celebrity guests." Among them: Actor Kevin Connolly; wrestler John Cena; basketball players Michael Jordan, Charles Oakley and John Starks; baseball players Carl Everett, Andres Galarraga, Ron Gant, Goos Gossage, Ryan Howard, Tino Martinez, Fred McGriff and Jorge Posada; football players Derrick Brooks, Harry Carson, Richard Dent, Trent Edwards, Shelton Quarles and Bruce Smith; golfers Natalie Gulbis and Brittany Lincicome; NASCAR driver Dale Jarrett; and tennis player James Blake (at least we assume it's the tennis player, and not the British dubstep DJ -- but hey, maybe Jeter is hipper than we thought?).

The party is invite-only, but if you hang around the casino gaming floor, you never know who you’ll see. At this week's Hard Rock Cafe Tampa grand opening -- where Jeter turned out to be a no-show -- Nicky Hilton was spotted at the slots.
