'The Voice': Juliet Simms of Tampa's Automatic Loveletter blows away judges on post-Super Bowl season premiere
Tampa Bay music fans might know the name Juliet Simms. The feisty blond singer is the frontwoman of Automatic Loveletter, a group with roots in Tampa and Clearwater that has toured the country on the Warped Tour the past few years.
On Sunday, Simms just got maybe the biggest break a local artist could imagine: Performing on the season premiere of NBC's The Voice, which immediately followed Super Bowl XLVI, Simms was a favorite of the judges. Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera all made a play to have her join their team, with Cee Lo ultimately winning out.
"It was a pinch-me moment," Simms said Monday during a conference call with reporters and other contestants. "I totally had my brother, after I got offstage, give me a slap on the arm, because I couldn't believe that that had just happened."
