Want to be part of the 2010 Florida Music Festival?

Despite bringing in headliners like Third Eye Blind, Filter and Buckcherry, the Florida Music Festival in Orlando is more of an industry event, for some 250 artists and bands who want to perform before major-label reps. Think of it like South by Southwest, only without the massive names and bloggy hype.

Taylor Swift, Flyleaf, The Academy Is... and Manchester Orchestra are among the unsigned bands that have played there in the past. And today, all four of those artists are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. (Okay, not really, but you get what we mean.)

If you're in a band, there's still time to get on board the Florida Music Festival Train. Through Jan. 31, FMF organizers are giving away an "Ultimate Showcase Package," with $1,000 cash, a mainstage showcase, VIP passes and a feature in the official festival guide.

The price to submit your band for consideration to perform at the festival is $30 through Feb. 1. Click here for the details on how to submit an EPK and bio for review by a panel of label reps, media and festival folks. The deadline to apply is Feb. 28.

This year's Florida Music Festival is April 21-24 at venues in and around downtown Orlando. Headliners will be announced in mid- to late February. For details, click here.
