Want to hit a strip club with Cobra Starship?
We're not sure why Fueled By Ramen signees Cobra Starship aren't coming to Tampa on their current smash tour. The closest they'll be is at the Social in Orlando this coming Saturday, and that show is sold out.
But there are two ways you can party with the Snakes on a Plane (Bring It) singers this week in Tampa. The band will stop through town en route from Atlanta to West Palm Beach, and its members will make two high-profile appearances while they're here.
Radio station 93.3-WFLZ is holding a contest where listeners can win a chance to meet Cobra Starship inside Tampa's most famous starship -- the one atop the 2001 Odyssey strip club on Dale Mabry. Obviously, this being a strip club and all, the contest is only open to those 18 and up, and the meet and greet is not open to the public. But still, we applaud the station's cleverness here. (What's next, meeting The Cab in a cab?)
Go here, and tell the station why you've been bad, and you could be a lucky winner. (But do it quickly; the deadline to enter is Tuesday.)
An easier way to spot singer Gabe Saporta would be to visit The Kennedy on Thursday night. Saporta and Skeet Skeet will pop into the Tampa club for a DJ set. Doors open at 10 p.m., and it's free all night for ladies 21 and up.
