Want to meet John Mayer in Tampa?

Listen: We know we've been going on and on lately about this new Best Buy Musical Instruments Theatre at the Clear Channel studios on Gandy Boulevard in Tampa.

But we truly do think it's a cool thing that not enough people know about. Few radio stations have a setup like this that can accommodate short concerts by artists like Train, Colbie Caillat, Lifehouse, V.V. Brown, We the Kings, The Maine and Switchfoot. Fans get an intimate acoustic show in a comfortable setting, and they get the chance to mingle with the artists afterward.

Now the studio is primed to host its biggest name yet: John Mayer.

Shortly before Mayer takes the stage at the 1-800-Ask-Gary Amphitheatre on Sept. 10, he's scheduled to pop into the BBMI Theatre for an acoustic set. The performance time is still up in the air, but you can enter to win tickets through 93.3-FLZ's website. Click here for details.

Having attended a few of these shows, we assure you they're worth checking out at least once. Would you rather hear a full John Mayer concert at the Amphitheatre, or three or four acoustic songs with him sitting 10 feet away? As much as we like Mayer (seriously and seriously), we'd take the latter.

And to any Clear Channel haters out there: We promise we'll stop writing about these contests when they stop being so awesome.
