This weekend: Commemorate Michael Jackson's death at the Hard Rock
If you're the music network Fuse, you schedule two days of Jackson-themed programming. If you're the mayor of Jackson's hometown, you clean up the streets in anticipation of thousands of visiting fans. If you're Dr. Conrad Murray, you, um, "mourn privately."
And if you live in Tampa, you head to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino for a party dubbed "A Tribute to the King of Pop: Celebrating his Legacy Until the Sun Comes Up." It's 11 p.m. Friday (the one-year anniversary of Jackson's death) to 6 a.m. Saturday at Floyd's inside the Hard Rock.
New York/Tampa/Miami DJ Short-e will host and perform a special live video music mix and video presentation at 2:30 a.m. at Floyd's, which is open until 6 a.m. Cover is $20. But get there early, as the first 100 in the door get a reduced cover and a free Michael Jackson tribute DVD mix. Resident DJ/VJ Chris Craze will be mixing in Michael Jackson hits throughout the night. Click here for the details.
Anyone else know of any MJ tribute parties this weekend in Tampa? If so, let us know.
We here at SoundcheckCorp. remember exactly where we were when we heard Jackson died. We were here.
