The Weeknd coming to the House of Blues in Orlando
We were bummed to hear indie-R&B wunderkind The Weeknd wouldn't be opening for Florence and the Machine during their Tampa tour stop on Sept. 24. The reclusive artist born Abel Tesfaye doesn't tour much, saving his most high-profile gigs for gigantic festivals.
But this fall, The Weeknd will be making a few stops in Florida -- and while he somehow managed NOT to get booked at the new hip-hop haven that is the Ritz Ybor, he WILL be in Orlando on Oct. 16 for a gig at the House of Blues. Tickets are $33-$36. Click here for details.
No doubt many fans of The Weeknd's smoldering bedroom jams will make the trip up I-4 to catch him. He's frequently compared to Michael Jackson, though we prefer to think of him as Canada's answer to Frank Ocean. Catch up on what you've been missing by downloading his mixtapes on his website. We're particularly fond of Echoes of Silence.
