What's the connection between Kristen Bell and Matt Hires?

Good things keep happening to Tampa's own cat in the hat, Matt Hires.

The song that landed the pop singer-songwriter a record deal with F-Stop, Honey Let Me Sing You A Song, has landed on the soundtrack to the new Kristen Bell/Josh Duhamel/Will Arnett/Jon Heder/Dax Shepard box office disaster romantic comedy, When In Rome. It'll also appear in the movie, according to Hires.

Honey -- which was originally recorded with Hires' Tampa band, Brer -- appears on the soundtrack alongside songs from artists like Matchbox Twenty, Jason Mraz, The Academy Is..., 3OH!3 and Katy Perry and more. The soundtrack comes out Jan. 12; the movie itself drops Jan. 29.

This isn't Hires' first link to Hollywood. In 2009, he landed songs on Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice. And his song Turn The Page was used in a commercial for the Clive Owen film The Boys Are Back. (See it after the jump.)
