WMNF prepping huge Beatles tribute for September
WMNF 88.5 is gearing up for a massive Woodstock tribute on Aug. 15, featuring 20 killer local bands. But they're already looking ahead to their next big tribute show: "Come Together: A Tribute to Abbey Road, Yellow Submarine and the Beatles."
It'll take place Sept. 26 at Skipper's Smokehouse. The lineup is still being set, but the Ditchflowers will perform an acoustic re-creation of Abbey Road, song by song, at about 5 p.m., with an electric re-creation at 11 p.m. And Yellow Submarine will be performed at about 9 p.m. Captain Obvious and the Duh Patrol, along with Freight Train Annie, will play side 1, while Bogus Pomp's Jerry Outlaw will take side two.
Tickets will be $13-$17. You can get some more details here (ignore the title on that page; it looks like the event has undergone a makeover since the station first posted it).
