Zac Brown talks family, eating with fans and that famous hat
Hard to believe that just 16 months ago, Zac Brown Band played Ribfest.
Normally a haven for classic rockers, Ribfest got hip in 2009 and booked the Chicken Fried country-jam band. Three months later, they wno the Grammy for Best New Artist. And this Saturday, they're co-headlining Raymond James Stadium with Kenny Chesney.
But Zac Brown hasn't forgotten his humble roots. In fact, the group still likes to dine with fans as part of their Eat and Greet events before shows.
"When we do an Eat and Greet, instead of just shuffling people through and saying hey, take a picture and kick them out, we sit down and eat with our fans an hour before the show," says Brown. "That's our way of networking with our fans and getting to know them."
Zac and company perform as part of Chesney's massive Goin' Coastal Tour, with Billy Currington and Uncle Kracker, hits Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on Saturday. The show starts at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $41.40-$278.50, but the cheaper tickets appear to be sold-out. Call (813) 350-6500 for details.
