Slowly but surely, one by one, we're ticking off names on our list of big-time comedians who never seem to come to Tampa Bay. Aziz Ansari. Patton Oswalt. Chris Hardwick. Kyle Kinane. Tig Notaro.

Here's another biggie: David Cross.

The alt-comedy forebear and co-creator of the revered sketch comedy series Mr. Show with Bob and David -- not to mention an accomplished writer, stand-up, actor and director in his own right -- is finally coming to Tampa, with a performance at the Straz Center in Tampa on April 15.

Cross has appeared in a handful of big-time films and TV shows, including Arrested Development and IFC's Todd Margaret, but it's Mr. Show, his HBO creation with Bob Odenkirk, that's endeared him to a generation of young comedians. In November, a Netflix revival, W/ Bob & David, was spotty at times, but nonetheless proved the duo still had plenty of chops.

Tickets to Cross' show are $28-$38, and they go on sale Friday. Click here for details.
