DJ Khaled opening for Beyonce at Tampa's Raymond James Stadium
The king of Snapchat is hitting the road with Queen Bey.
DJ Khaled announced Tuesday that he would be the opening act on Beyonce's Formation Tour, which hits Tampa's Raymond James Stadium on April 29. (He may or may not open every show, but music blog Consequence of Sound reports Tampa is one of them.)
"They told me I would never tour," the Miami producer and rapper said in an Instagram video. "Now I'm on the Beyonce Formation Tour. Stadium alert! See you in a stadium near you."
In the caption, he elaborated, calling the announcement a "major accomplishment in my life.
"I want to thank the incomparable icon Beyonce for this tremendous opportunity of a lifetime. Your music is the soundtrack to so many people's lives across the globe. Your legacy is a blueprint for the young generation to follow and strive to be. You are the true definition of a superstar."
It's not that strange a move. In February, Khaled signed a management deal with Roc Nation, the company run by Beyonce's hubby Jay Z.
In addition to a stadium-sized rendition of All I Do Is Win, and possibly some Tampa-based Snapchats, maybe we'll get a taste of Khaled's in-the-works album Major Key, too.
