Duran Duran, Chic coming to Tampa's MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre
Hungry like the wolf for a major concert announcement? Here you go: Duran Duran is coming to Tampa.
The New Romantic poster boys have announced a major U.S. tour in support of their latest album Paper Gods, and it'll hit the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre on April 2.
Here's the best part: disco-funk legends Chic, featuring producer and guitarist Nile Rodgers, will open the show.
All the Duranies out there might simply be excited to hear Simon Le Bon and company work through classic pop hits like Girls On Film and The Wild Boys, but a slew of fans will turn out for Chic as well. There's been a huge resurgence in Rodgers' pioneering guitar and production style in recent years, particularly after his work on Daft Punk's Random Access Memories. This is his and Chic's first Tampa Bay show in ages.
Tickets to the show are $29.95 and up, and they go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. All tickets purchased online will come with redemption instructions for a physical copy of Paper Gods, which, like much of Duran Duran's work, was produced in part by Rodgers.
