Ellie Goulding coming to Amalie Arena in Tampa
Where you fall on Ellie Goulding's place in the pop universe says a lot about who you are.
Is the 28-year-old Brit a megastar like Beyonce, Katy Perry or Taylor Swift? No. Is she as much of a kid-friendly household name as Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez or Ariana Grande? Also no. Is she an indie pop queen like Lorde, Halsey or Grimes? No, not quite.
But Goulding does have elements of all of the above, which has made her a beloved young singer whose fan base cuts a wide swath across multiple demographics. And so her debut show in Tampa should be quite a hit event.
Goulding will perform at Tampa's Amalie Arena on June 2, the venue announced Monday. Tickets are $21.75 and up, and they go on sale Friday. Click here for details.
The announcement comes the same week as Goulding is dropping her third studio album, Delirium, featuring the hit new single On My Mind. But she has accrued a stable of other pop hits over the past few years -- Starry Eyed, Lights, Burn, Love Me Like You Do, plus collaborations with DJs like Calvin Harris and Major Lazer.
And it doesn't hurt that she has Taylor Swift's co-sign, either -- in October, Swift brought her onstage in Dallas to sing Love Me Like You Do. That's gotta count for something, right?
