Garrison Keillor talks about Floridians, great humorists, writing for the New Yorker and more
In a recent phone interview, humorist Garrison Keillor gave us just a few hints about his upcoming appearance in Tampa.
"It will be a show including one man, a microphone and a stool, and I don't actually sit down very much,'' he said. Keillor, well-known for hosting Minnesota Public Radio's Prairie Home Companion,'' is also the author of more than 10 books including his newest, O, What a Luxury: Verses Lyrical, Vulgar, Pathetic & Profound, a book of poems released in October.
"Yes, I do expect to recite a bit of poetry on my visit,'' he said. "And I have quite a bit to say about cheerfulness too, which I think is the obligation of an older person.''
An Evening With Garrison Keillor is 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Straz Center in Tampa. Tickets are $35.50-$55.50. Click here for details.
