UPDATE: Garth Brooks coming to the Amway Center in Orlando
We're still a long way from Garth Brooks returning to Tampa after three planned shows at Amalie Arena were cancelled last summer due to the Stanley Cup playoffs.
But here's the next best thing: Garth is coming to the Amway Center in Orlando.
The country superstar has announced he'll be playing Orlando for the first time in 18 years on Oct. 8. Odds are good he'll add at least one more show in the near future; most of his tours these days feature extended runs each city.
As always, wife Trisha Yearwood will open the show. Tickets are $74.98, and they go on sale Aug. 26. Click here for details.
What does this mean for a potential makeup date for the cancelled Tampa shows? Hard to say. At the time those shows were called off, we knew it would be a long time before both Brooks and the venue could figure out a new date. His tours are planned out (if not publicly announced) up to a couple of years in advance, meaning there's a good chance Orlando was already on the books when Tampa was canceled.
Bottom line: If you're desperate to see Brooks in concerrt, this is likely going to be your best bet for a while.
***UDPATE*** As expected, Brooks has added more shows in Orlando, on Oct. 6, 7 and Oct. 9, making this a four-night stand. Click here.
