George Clinton New Year's Eve concert at Ferg's Sports Bar: Canceled
Looks like this won’t be a very funky new year, after all.
A New Year’s Eve concert in St. Petersburg starring George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic has been canceled, organizers announced Monday. The show was scheduled to take place at Ferg’s Sports Bar in St. Petersburg — but that was before Ferg’s owner Mark Ferguson announced he was putting the kibosh on all live music there, in the wake of noise complaints from a neighboring apartment building.
Since then, two concerts had to be moved from Ferg’s to England Brothers Bandshell Park in Pinellas Park, with one act, Dokken, postponing their concert until February. Organizers have not yet determined the fates of two more shows scheduled for this month: Saliva and P.O.D. on Saturday, and Nelly on Dec. 29.
No such luck for Clinton fans, though. That show is definitely not happening. Refunds are available at point of purchase. Click here for details.
