Hilary Hahn and Joshua Bell talk Twitter, travel, sonatas and more
Hilary Hahn and Joshua Bell are two of the best-known violin virtuosos in America -- and as fate would have it, both are performing in Tampa Bay this week. Bell performs Frida at Ruth Eckerd Hall; Hahn on Wednesday at the Straz Center.
Their shows should attract a diverse mix. Both are acclaimed artists, but Bell gained national renown thanks to an experimental, Pulitzer Prize-winning story in the Washington Post; while Hahn tweets from the perspective of her violin case.
"I think it's nice to have a different perspective, and the violin case does that," Hahn said in an interview last week. "It's not always my opinion. The violin case is not me. It has its own take on what's going on."
John Fleming talked to both Hahn and Bell in separate interviews. Click here to read them.
