Internet star Hayes Grier, blues man Taj Mahal cancel shows this week
We're going to try not to take this personally but we've been jilted twice this week with two previously announced shows canceled or postpone on us.
Internet sensation Hayes Grier canceled his Feb. 15 show of hijinks and video at Clearwater's Capitol Theatre -- and the rest of his tour as well -- in a cryptic announcement Wednesday. The reason given was "due to the tour being rescheduled to a later date." Refunds will be issued at point of purchase. The 16 year old Vine star with 15 million adoring followers announced on Twitter, "I'm sad to announce my tour has been postponed to a later date. Refunds will be issued. I have some exciting stuff for you all ahead."
We fared better with Taj Mahal who merely pushed his Feb. 8 show back by a month to March 8 at the Capitol Theatre. The composer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist is one of the most prominent figures in blues and roots music. If you bought a ticket for his show tonight, it will be honored on March 8 at 8 p.m. The reason was again a bit cryptic, "Due to unforeseen circumstances, Taj Mahal has rescheduled all original Florida dates to March." We'll take that as, "It's not you it's me" and forgive the Grammy winner. Tickets are $35-$55. Click here
