Jimmy Fallon coming to the Tampa Theatre in Tampa

It seems like half of late-night TV is coming to Tampa Bay.

On Nov. 18, Craig Ferguson will perform at the Palladium in St. Petersburg. On Feb. 9, outgoing Tonight Show host Jay Leno will swing by the refurbished Capitol Theatre.

But first, on Oct. 16, Jimmy Fallon will play the historic Tampa Theatre. The current Late Night and future Tonight Show host will bring his "Clean Cut Comedy Tour" to the historic venue for one night only. Tickets are $45, and they go on sale Saturday. Click here and here for details.

We're getting a sense of deja vu with this show. You might recall that Fallon slipped into Tampa in fall 2008, a couple of months before taking the reins of Late Night, as part of what our own Eric Deggans termed his "stealth comedy training."

Now we have to ask: When's YOUR Tampa show, Seth Meyers?

***UPDATE*** Ruth Eckerd Hall, which is putting on the show, has announced some of the comics who will be joining Fallon on this trek, including Julian McCullough, Nate Bargatze and Nick Thune, all familiar names to comedy nerds and podcast fans.
