Kid Rock, ZZ Top coming to the Live Nation Amphitheater in Tampa
Rarely is Kid Rock mentioned in the same sentence as Radiohead and Louis C.K. But with his new "$20 Best Night Ever" tour, he's stumbled up on yet another creative way to market his product directly to fans.
First, we should mention that Kid Rock's tour is coming to Tampa's Live Nation Amphitheatre on Sept. 15, with an impressive double bill of ZZ Top and Uncle Kracker opening the show. Tickets will go onsale April 19.
As for a ticket price? Kid Rock will sell tickets in all sections of his upcoming summer tour for $20, with no service fees, at participating Walmarts and Live Nation box offices. He also promises discounted beer, food, T-shirts and upgrades for various fans selected at random.
Moreover, 1,000 tickets to each show will be released through Live Nation as "platinum tickets," with variable prices that reflect the market value in each city. In other words, this means fans won't have to pay exorbitant prices to scalpers if the shows come close to selling out.
