Marilyn Manson coming to Jannus Live in St. Petersburg
The last time Marilyn Manson came to Jannus Live, it made national news.
On Nov. 13, 1996, St. Petersburg police were planning to monitor Manson's show in the courtyard to make sure the singer didn't violate local obscenity laws. That, however, happened to be the same night that St. Petersburg erupted into a series of race riots, which meant the cops were needed elsewhere.
That didn't stop Manson from claiming in the pages of Rolling Stone that he was arrested at Jannus for indecent exposure. The cops said it never happened. But hey, where's the fun in being Marilyn Manson if you can't spin a controversial yarn every now and then?
But now Manson is returning to the town where he couldn't get arrested. The shock-rock icon is embarking on a tour of smaller venues, and it'll include a stop at Jannus Live on July 20. Picture Me Broken will open. Tickets are $44, and they'll go onsale Friday. Click here.
St. Petersburg cops, here's your chance to right the wrongs of the past. Break out the videotape, and you might finally be able to lay the bracelets on Marilyn Manson.
