Mike Tyson talks dredging up his demons, finding inspiration in 'A Bronx Tale' and more
Mike Tyson may have bitten off Evander Holyfield’s ear and served three years in prison after being convicted of rape.
But hearing how cheerfully he handles the media these days while promoting his one-man, autobiographical stage show Undisputed Truth, you have to wonder: How did Tyson change?
“Back when I was fighting, I was the baddest man on the planet, self-proclaimed, right?” Tyson said in a recent phone interview. “So in order to be that guy, I had to act that guy. So in order to be the entertainer I want to be, I have to be this guy. I’m very good at … being adaptable. I’m almost perfect at it.”
Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth comes to Ruth Eckerd Hall at 8 p.m. Wednesday; tickets start at $50. Click here for details.
