New Orleans Jazz Fest lineup: Stevie Wonder, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Neil Young, J. Cole and more
There aren't too many out-of-state festivals that swaths of Floridians flock to each year, but one of them is always the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, better known to the world as Jazz Fest.
Maybe it has something to do with the Crescent City's magnificent musical lineage. Maybe it has to do with the free-form format that sees people playing in venues and public spaces all across town for the better part of 10 days.
Or maybe it's just the utterly stellar lineup they're able to book each year.
This year's New Orleans Jazz Fest lineup is as jam-packed as ever: Stevie Wonder, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Neil Young and Promise of the Real, Van Morrison, Paul Simon, J. Cole, Beck, Snoop Dogg, Elvis Costello, Nick Jonas, Steely Dan, My Morning Jacket, Herbie Hancock, Gov't Mule, Lauryn Hill, the Isley Brothers, Maxwell and more.
We've barely scratched the surface, but look at some of those names: Van Morrison! Herbie Hancock! Beck! Stevie Wonder, who's vowed he won't be performing in Florida anytime soon! You're telling us it's not worth a drive up I-75 and across I-10 for that?
Other notable names on the bill include Julio Iglesias, Flo Rida, Gary Clark Jr., Irma Thomas, Janelle Monae, Jonny Lang, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Dr. John and the Nite Trippers, Grace Potter, Elle King, Rhiannon Giddens, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, Snarky Puppy, tributes to Allen Toussaint and B.B. King and many, many more.
This year's Jazz Fest runs April 22 to May 1 at venues around New Orleans. Single-day tickets are $60 through Feb. 2, $65 from Feb. 3 to April 21, and $75 at the gate. Click here for all the details on Jazz Fest.
