New video: St. Petersburg's Emma Robinson covers Rihanna's 'Stay' live without Auto-Tune
Over the past week, St. Petersburg 16-year-old Emma Robinson has seen her cover of Rihanna's Stay go viral on Reddit, the Huffington Post, MSN and Tampabay.com. At issue: Her voice sounds uncannily like it was processed with the pitch-modulation program Auto-Tune. The rising junior at St. Petersburg High School says this is just how her voice has always sounded; commenters on YouTube and other sites aren't so sure.
We wanted to put an end to the debate. So tbt*'s Chris Zuppa headed to Robinson's home to record Emma performing Stay live. The new rendition is just as remarkable as the original. Check it out above.
What do you think? Does this settle the matter, or are you still skeptical?
