Orlando's Plaza Live to resume concerts following Christina Grimmie shooting
Four days after the fatal shooting of singer Christina Grimmie, Orlando concert venue the Plaza Live is reopening for business.
Grimmie was murdered during a post-show meet-and-greet with fans following her June 10 concert at the Plaza Live. The venue has released a statement saying shows would continue this week, starting with a Thursday concert by Yacht Rock Revue.
"We continue to work with Orlando Police in this ongoing investigation and whom we have invited to evaluate our security practices and protocols," the venue stated. "We extend our heartfelt thanks for the community's outpouring of support and we continue to keep Central Florida, friends and families in our thoughts and prayers."
The news of Sunday's massacre at Orlando's LGBT nightclub Pulse largely pushed the Christina Grimmie murder out of the national spotlight, though the world is still mourning. Adam Levine, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber are among the celebrities who've expressed their shock and sadness at her death.
The Plaza Live's schedule of upcoming concerts includes shows by Zakk Wylde, Henry Rollins, Keb' Mo' and Kenny G. Click here for details.
