First The Postal Service announces a gig in Orlando, now Phoenix. What is this, Coachella East?

Yes, French pop-rock outfit Phoenix has announced a gig on May 8 at the House of Blues in Orlando. As with The Postal Service, this is their only scheduled date in Florida. Tickets are $37.50-$39.50, and they’ll go onsale at noon Friday. Click here.

Considering Phoenix are actually headlining Saturday night on both weekends of Coachella 2013, this is a pretty big get for the House of Blues. The group’s highly anticipated new album, Bankrupt!, is due April 22; they just released first single Entertainment this week.

May 8, huh? Looks like Phoenix has a few days open right before that. Wonder if there’s any room for a final headliner at this new Funshine Music Festival...
