Photos: Trans-Siberian Orchestra fills Tampa's Amalie Arena with Christmas pomp and pyro
It's always a holiday party whenever the Trans-Siberian Orchestra comes back home to Tampa.
With some 11,000 fans packing Amalie Arena on Sunday afternoon -- and another 11,000 coming back for a second show Sunday night -- the holiday-conquering orchestral rock ensemble brought their legendary lights, lasers and pyrotechnics to Tampa for a show filled with holiday pomp.
Founder Paul O'Neill was in the house, watching from the soundboard alongside composer (and Savatage founder and frontman) Jon Oliva. But the real show was on stage, as their army of musicians played grandiose, technically flawless renditions of holiday hits like The Ghosts of Christmas Eve and Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24).
