Photos: Vintage Trouble raise a soulful ruckus at the Local 662 in St. Petersburg
On Tuesday night, I walked into the Local 662 near the end of Vintage Trouble's set, and the dancefloor was in a frenzy. Turns out singer Ty Taylor was there in the middle, dancing and sweating and singing up a storm.
This was a homecoming show for Tampa-born, Brandon-raised bassist Rick Barrio Dill, and you could tell the funk, rock and soul quartet was ready to bring the party to a sold-out show. Fans craned their necks in from the street to get a glimpse of the relatively no-name band that's toured with The Who and Bon Jovi, and just played the mainstage at Coachella.
The best part? After their encore, Vintage Trouble took a bow, jumped offstage into the crowd and marched straight back to the merch tent to sign autographs. That's how a professional band does business, baby.
