Puff Daddy and the Family coming to Amalie Arena in Tampa
Seems like yesterday he used to rock the show. But it’s actually been nearly 20 years since Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs released No Way Out, a blockbuster LP for his Bad Boy label and one of the most popular hip-hop albums of the ‘90s.
Well, with pre-millennial nostalgia back in a big way this year, Puffy is getting on board. Following some “Puff Daddy and the Family” reunion shows this weekend in Brooklyn, he’s taking the Fam on tour this year – and it includes a stop in Tampa.
The Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour will stop at Amalie Arena on Sept. 11 with a who’s who of '90s hip hop in tow: Puff Daddy, Mase, Lil Kim, Faith Evans, 112, Mario Winans, Total, Carl Thomas, the Lox and, for a dash of currency in case you were worried this thing was too steeped in nostalgia, French Montana.
“This isn’t just a concert – this is a moment in hip hop and R&B history,” Combs said in a statement. “This tour is 20 years in the making, and is a celebration of the hits and Bad Boy lifestyle.”
Even without a Biggie hologram – and let’s not rule anything out at this point – this’ll be a night packed with hits, from Diddy, Evans and 112’s I’ll Be Missing You; Diddy and Mase’s Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down; Diddy and Lil Kim’s No Time and plenty more.
Tickets to the show are $26.25 and up, and they go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday. Click here for details.
