Queens of the Stone Age coming to the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg

So it looks like Arcade Fire may not be coming to Florida on their 2014 Reflektor Tour. Fine. At least we can look forward to a concert by another critically beloved band that that rarely comes to the Sunshine State.

Queens of the Stone Age, a California desert-metal powerhouse fronted by one of rock 'n' roll's best all-around badasses, Josh Homme, are coming to the Mahaffey Theatre in St. Petersburg on Feb. 4. Tickets are $40.50-$66.50 and they go on sale Friday. Click here for details.

Queens of the Stone Age may be best known to the general public for their pummelling, Grammy-nominated 2002 single No One Knows, But Homme and company have released a slew of critically acclaimed albums of bluesy, sludgy stoner metal, including this year's well-received ...Like Clockwork. It's been years since the group has paid a visit to Florida, so embrace this rare opportunity to see them -- in a stately theater, no less! -- while you can.

(And if you live on the other side of the bay, and would rather drive to Orlando, QOTSA will be at Hard Rock Live in Orlando on Feb. 7. Click here for details.)
