Ray LaMontagne, Jenny Lewis coming to Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater
The last time rust-voiced troubadour Ray LaMontagne came to Ruth Eckerd Hall, he performed with the late, legendary Levon Helm. This time around, he'll be returning with another beloved -- if much younger -- musical figure.
LaMontagne is coming to Ruth Eckerd Hall on July 10 alongside Jenny Lewis of Rilo Kiley, who hasn't played a solo show in Tampa Bay that we know of. L.A. indie duo the Belle Brigade will open the show. Tickets are $53.25-$125 and will go on sale soon. Click here.
LaMontagne is already a proven draw, a soulful acolyte of The Band and Nick Drake perhaps best known for his 2005 single Trouble, which found eternal life in a commercial for Travelers Insurance. But Lewis is an exciting addition in her own right. The former child actress (Troop Beverly Hills) became an indie-rock heroine through Rilo Kiley, but has perservered through her solo and collaborative recordings with artists like The Postal Service, Elvis Costello, Bright Eyes and the Killers' Brandon Flowers.
For the singer-songwriter set, this may be the can't-miss show of the summer.
