Reggae Rise Up lineup: Dirty Heads, Tribal Seeds, Stick Figure and more coming to Vinoy Park in St. Petersburg
We all know how much St. Petersburg loves live music in Vinoy Park. And we know how much the city loves its reggae rock. Is it time to combine those two loves once again?
The Reggae Rise Up Festival will return to Tampa Bay after an 18-month hiatus, moving from Raymond James Stadium to Vinoy Park, and today we got our first look at the lineup: Dirty Heads (above), Stick Figure, Tribal Seeds, Fortunate Youth, Sun Dried Vibes, Tatanka, Oceanstone and Pinellas County's own Resinated. The festival will take place March 5.
If part of that lineup looks familiar, it could be because Dirty Heads and Stick Figure both played Vinoy Park last summer, in a one-off show alongside Slightly Stoopid. Weather impacted that one, though, and by some accounts the show wasn't a big hit.
So will Reggae Rise Up 2016 succeed with an expanded bill and more of a festival-like atmosphere this time around? You'll have to open up your wallet to find out -- tickets start at a moderately pricey $40.05, and they're on sale now. Click here for details.
And for comparison's sake, here's our review of Reggae Rise Up 2013 in Tampa.
