Alexander and the Grapes

A few months ago, we spotlighted two Tampa Bay bands who have released excellent albums in 2016: The Hip Abduction with Gold Under the Glow, and Polyenso with Pure In the Plastic.

Now that we're more than halfway through the year, though, it's a good time to look back on some of our other favorite local albums of the year. Among the albums we picked: Acme Jazz Garage's Acme Jazz Garage, Danielle DeCosmo's Heavy Is the Heart, Displace's Undertow, Samurai Shotgun's Riptide and Alexander and the Grapes' Hyper Self.

To round things out, we also spotlighted five(ish) great EPs from Tampa Bay artists: RedFeather's Moon, Kristopher James' Find Me, Dawns' Dawns, Gritt's Gritt and Wolf-Face's Love Songs for the Lycanthropic.
