Rob Thomas talks about coming up in Florida, Matchbox Twenty's 20th anniversary and more

Ready to feel old? This year marks the 20th anniversary of Matchbox Twenty's Yourself or Someone Like You.

"It's a huge thing that none of us thought we'd achieve," frontman Rob Thomas said in a recent phone interview. "Not just to be around for 20 years, because all you have to do is stay together for that. But to be around for 20 years, and we went out last summer and had one of our biggest tours ever — that's a good feeling to have."

While Matchbox Twenty is still very much alive, Thomas is doing his solo thing these days. He just released a new album, The Great Unknown, and is spending the summer on tour with Counting Crows, including a gig on Saturday at Tampa's MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre. Click here for details.
