Ruth Eckerd Hall proposes $8 million concert venue at Clearwater's Coachman Park
Remember when Bryan Adams played an out-of-nowhere concert at Clearwater's Coachman Park in February? Would you like to see more shows like that?
Ruth Eckerd Hall would. The venue, which booked the Adams show, has unveiled plans to build an $8 million concert venue at Coachman Park, possibly transforming the look of the Clearwater Jazz Holiday and allowing for more concerts there each year.
It's far from a done deal -- City Manager Bill Horne said the City Council will not vote on a new pavilion, or any other changes, until consultants hired by the city finalize a master plan recommending ways to revitalize the downtown waterfront. But Ruth Eckerd Hall president Zev Buffman believes it could really help the city.
"The key to every and all downtowns is to get the children, the parents and the grandparents to go there as a habit, voluntarily, willingly," Buffman said.
