Santigold, NOFX coming to the Ritz Ybor in Tampa
The Ritz Ybor is having a killer year when it comes to genre-defying pop singers.
On Feb. 17, the Ritz will host Carly Rae Jepsen, fresh off Grease Live and her acclaimed album Emotion. On March 5, it's The Voice alumna Melanie Martinez, a ticket so hot the show is already sold out. On April 19, it's Best New Artist Grammy nominee Tori Kelly.
And after that, it's Santigold.
The alt-pop singer will bring her We Buy Gold Tour to the Ritz on April 25 -- her first headlining show in Tampa Bay. (She previously opened for the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 2012.) Tickets are $25, and they go on sale Friday. Click here for details.
Santigold is gearing up for this month's release of her third album, 99¢, but you almost certainly know her older material. She's never had a chart-topping hit, per se, but songs like Creator, Disparate Youth, Lights Out and L.E.S. Artistes have received big airplay in commercials and on TV over the seven or eight years. And she's a terrific live performer -- her performance at Bonnaroo 2012 was one of our favorite of that fest.
In other Ritz Ybor news that somehow DOESN'T have anything to do with intriguing young female pop singers, punk legends NOFX are also coming there on April 21, the venue has announced. Tickets are $25. Click here.
Now it's time to start playing wishlist with the rest of the Ritz Ybor's year. Who should they book next? Grimes? Sky Ferreira? Banks? Tinashe? All of the above?
