Saturday's Spring Beer Fling moved from Vinoy Park to the Coliseum in St. Petersburg
For the second time in three years, the Spring Beer Fling isn't taking any chances when it comes to weekend weather.
The annual craft beer and music festival, scheudled for Saturday in St. Petersburg, is moving from Vinoy Park to the Coliseum, 535 Fourth Ave. N, due to an up to 80 percent chance of weekend rain.
"After much deliberation, we feel moving the event to the Coliseum is the best course of action due to the impending weather," said Monica Varner, a partner at organizers Big City Events. "This way, attendees will be able to enjoy the event and enjoy the show to the fullest without having to worry about the rain."
It's the second time rain has impacted the Spring Beer Fling. In 2014, impending storms prompted a last-minute decision to move the event, then held at Tampa's Curtis Hixon Park, from Saturday to Sunday.
The good news is that all of this Saturday's bands, including headliner Rusted Root, will take the stage as scheduled at the Coliseum. They'll perform from 8:15 to 9:45 p.m. Other performers include the Broadcast (6:40 p.m.), NoNeed (5:10 p.m.), Four Star Riot (3:45 p.m.), Luxury Mane (2:30 p.m.), Logan Grant (1:15 p.m.) and Johnny Zoom (noon).
Moving from Vinoy Park to the Coliseum will drastically reduce the event's capacity, so if you want to buy tickets, you'd better get them ASAP. GA tickets are $17 or $20 at the gate, if available. Click here for all the details.
