Screwie Louie's Porpoise Pub in Seminole burns down

Seminole Fire Rescue

Big music venues in central Pinellas County are few and far between. So it's kind of a minor miracle Screwie Louie's Porpoise Pub in Seminole managed to bring in bands like Foghat, Quiet Riot, the Marshall Tucker Band, Rare Earth, Pure Prairie League and more. It was even scheduled to be the venue for this year's Summerland Tour with Everclear, Fuel and the Toadies before that show moved to R.O.C. Park in Madeira Beach.

Today, though, some tragic news: Screwie Louie's has burned down. The bar was destroyed by an overnight wind-fed fire, according to Seminole Fire Rescue. The bar had been around since 1961. Owner Louis Falco said he hopes to rebuild.
