Sister Hazel, Uncle Kracker, America lead music lineup at 2014 Florida State Fair
Music has never been the forte of the Florida State Fair, but in recent years, that's started to change.
In 2013, the State Fair booked LeAnn Rimes and Less Than Jake. And this year, the State Fair has even more concerts in store -- all of them free.
America, Sister Hazel and Uncle Kracker will perform free concerts at the fairgrounds at 7 p.m. on Feb. 6, 13 and 17, respectively. And Feb. 12 marks the return of the annual "Country Gold" tour, with classic country artists like Leroy Van Dyke, Suzy Bogguss and T.G. Sheppard performing at noon and 4 p.m. (The Country Gold shows are not free; tickets are $10-$15 and must be purchased through the Florida State Fair Authority at FloridaStateFair.com.)
This year's fair runs Feb. 6-17 at the Florida State Fairgrounds, and in addition to the expanded musical slate, there will be rides, fair food and a huge array of entertainment, including motorcycle daredevils, sword swallowers and fire eaters.
Advance tickets are $9 for adults, $7 for seniors (select days only) and $5 for children ages 6-11, with ride armbands $25 in advance. Tickets are now available at all Walgreens stores and select AAA locations around Tampa Bay, as well as at the fairgrounds box office. For more information, call (800) 345-3247 or click here.
