UPDATE: Slipknot, Marilyn Manson coming to Tampa

M. Shawn Crahan

It was only a matter of time before America's worst metal nightmares, Slipknot and Marilyn Manson, toured together. That time, it seems, is now.

The costumed power-metal collective and the glammed-up shock rocker are heading out on the road for a massive, 34-date summer tour, and it includes a stop in Tampa, according to a statement from Slipknot.

No dates or venues have been announced, but based on the rest of the itinerary, it's a safe bet the show will take place at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre, a venue both artists played last summer -- on back-to-back nights, no less.

***UPDATE*** As expected, the show is taking place July 2 at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheater. Tickets are $23 and up, and they go on sale March 4. Click here.

Both artists put on solidly entertaining live shows -- particularly Slipknot, who were just up for two Grammys on Monday night for their 2014 album .5: The Gray Chapter. And opening all dates will be California metal outfit Of Mice & Men, ensuring this'll be a hard 'n' heavy bill from top to bottom.
