Sunshine Music & Blues Festival lineup: Tedeschi Trucks Band, Galactic, Leon Russell and more
Live Nation has tried something bold in 2013. Recognizing, perhaps, that we live in a festival culture, they've launched three all-new festivals in Tampa Bay.
In November, we'll have the indie-minded Coastline Music Festival, featuring Passion Pit and Two Door Cinema Club. Back in May, we had the Funshine Music Festival, with Train, REO Speedwagon, Smashing Pumpkins and many others.
But you might have forgotten the first of these fests: The Sunshine Music & Blues Festival, which took place in January at Vinoy Park in St. Petersburg. Sunshine did well enough to merit a second year, and on Monday, we got our first look at the lineup.
Tedeschi Trucks Band (above), Leon Russell, Galactic, Hot Tuna and The Ringers -- a supergroup featuring Widespread Panic's Jimmy Herring, Wayne Krantz, Michael Landau, Keith Carlock and Etienne Mbappe -- will headline the Sunshine Music & Blues Festival, which takes place Jan. 19 at Vinoy Park. Bobby Lee Rodgers and Oli Brown are also on the bill, with more acts to be announced.
Early bird tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday and cost $39.50; general admission and reserved tickets start at $49.50 and go on sale Oct. 7. For more details on the festival, click here.
