Switchfoot playing free concert at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg

Saturday was Next Big Thing, the biggest annual event on alt-rock station 97X's calendar. So you think they'd take a break until 2014, right?

Wrong. The station has announced that Grammy-winning hard rock outfit Switchfoot will headline a free concet on Dec. 27 at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg, with an opening set by J. Roddy Walston and the Business.

Switchfoot has a longstanding relationship with 97X, dating all the way back to 2003, when the band opened Next Big Thing 3 at 10:45 in the morning. Back then, they were an up-and-coming group with a couple of rising hits, Meant to Live and Dare You to Move. Today they're one of the most popular crossover Christian acts in the country.

The show is free, but you need a ticket to get in. For ticket drop locations and details, click here.
